The Pacific Ocean coast of Lima Peru

Upon your arrival in Lima, you will be met by your transfer-man, member of Machu Picchu Inc., who will assist you with your luggage and check-in procedures at your hotel. You will receive a contact information Package with all the hotel’s information as well as our office's contact information for each city and the 24-hour emergency numbers for any further assistance you may require.  Your hotel room will be ready since the night prior.  Balance of the day is free at your own. Accommodation at AC LIMA MIRAFLORES HOTEL, for 2 nights in one Deluxe Ocean View room. Hotel Tax and service charge included for today.

Lima - Perù

This circuit in the city in front of the Pacific Ocean, is offered any day of the week, ideally during the morning and the route is adapted according to the level and objective of the participant. The base route runs along the boardwalks of the Miraflores district, cross the Armendáriz Bridge and through the bohemian and old district of Barranco, where the classic Bridge of Sighs is located. (35+ KM). For those who use the bike frequently. On this route we reach the limits of the Magdalena district, passing through the well-known Parque del Amor, the Miraflores Lighthouse, María Reiche Park and a walk along the entire line of boardwalks reaching the Puente de Los Suspiros. Use of bicycle lanes by 60%. You will enjoy the beautiful views of part of the Peruvian coast and the Pacific Ocean while you try some bites and drinks on the way, before returning to your hotel by bike.  Balance of the day is free. Moray Ruins, Cusco, Cusco, Peru, South America

At the appropriate time, you will be met by your transfer-man who will assist you with your flight to Cusco. Arrival to Cusco, meet and greed by your guide who will assist you with your luggage and will drive you to the base camp located in the Sacred Valley. The Sacred Valley is located at a lower altitude than Cusco city which aids to the acclimatization of the city.

 

TRANSFER TO THE BASE CAMP WITH AWANACANCHA ON ROUTE (PRIVATE)

When you arrive to Cusco, the Imperial City, you will be met by your private guide and private driver who will assist you with your luggage and will drive you to the base camp in Pachar.  On the way, visit Awanacancha textile center to observe traditional Andean weaving and to see the four types of camel-related Andean animals – llamas, guanacos, alpacas, and vicuñas. Alpacas have thick wool and is the most used while the vicuñas are small and delicate with fur considered the finest. Awanacancha is a weaving center with the goal to keep alive the traditional textile arts.  Here you can meet these four types of camelids, learn about the harvesting of the different wools, the natural dying techniques and have a chance to see native weavers from different areas showing their different weaving secrets and lifestyle.   Box Lunch will be served on route.

 

3PM: VIA FERRATA WITH OVERNIGHT IN THE SKYLODGE CABIN HANGED ON THE MOUNTAIN (SHARED EXCURSION)

In the afternoon, transfer to the meeting point where you will receive a briefing and orientation lines.  Begin the adventure with the Via Ferrata, the safest way to climb a 300 mt rock face.  Attach your double-carabiner system to the steel lifeline and feel unique emotions climbing up 300 meters using iron ladders and knowing you are 100% safe. Enjoy the breathtaking view, then ascend a 100-meter cliff fixed to a rope.  Upon arrival to the base station, you will be welcomed and take to the Capsule room.  Dinner will be served, and you will be welcomed with a bottle of wine.  Accommodation at one Capsule room hanged on the mountain.    (B, BL, D)

Early in the morning, after a healthy breakfast, you will go down to the basement by zip-line that gives people of all ages the opportunity to fly over this magical and magnificent valley, in a safe and fun way. The zip line has 7 lines or cables, from 150 mt to 700 mt, for a total of 2800mt. To get to the first line, a 35-minute hike is made, all equipped with a via ferrata system to give maximum security and confidence to all adventurous people. No experience required.   (Maximum weight per passenger required is 265 lbs or 120 Kilograms, to perform the Via Ferrata and the Zip line) Transfer to your hotel In the Sacred Valley.  Balance of the day free, for passenger’s own activities.  Accommodation at CASA ANDINA PREMIUM VALLEY Hotel for two nights in one Superior room.  (B)

At 8:30 am. Your guide will pick you up from your hotel and drive you through the mountains until we reach our private river put-in located in Pachar. Here you will receive your rafting equipment and a safety briefing. (Toilet facilities are available). After a brief period practicing on the flat parts of the river, we will start our journey on easy waters, while we admire the spectacular view of the mountains and archaeological remains. We will continue towards Ollantaytambo and its amazing Inca terraces, at the time we will experience class 2-3 rapids, to finish with “El Resbaladero”, a strong class 3 rapid that includes waves and small whirlpools. We will then have lunch in a traditional restaurant located on the riverside owned by the local community. This is a great chance to enjoy the Andean cuisine while supporting community projects. Finally, you will return to your hotel in the Sacred valley. This is a beautiful and easy trip by the Sacred Valley of the Incas with mountain range views, safe and fun whitewater rafting. Experience is not necessary, flotation option available.

After lunch continue to the fortress of Ollantaytambo which was believed to be constructed to guard the entrance to this part of the valley and protect it from invasions of tribes from the jungle lowlands. Later, it served as a temporary capital for Manco Inca, leader of the Inca resistance in 1,537 during the Spanish conquest of Peru, who fortified the town to stop the advance, as Cusco had fallen under Spanish domination.  Additionally, this place is a ceremonial center dedicated to the purification and worship of water with 150 steps built with perfectly carved stones. The archaeological site includes a series of superimposed terraces and stunning finely carved stone blocks located on the upper terrace or Temple of the Sun. Then, take a journey in time through the Ollantaytambo town with its straight streets with perfectly laid stones that feature a canal for water to run through the town.  Return to your hotel (B, L)

SACRED VALLY / KM 104 / WIÑAY WAYNA / MACHU PICCHU WITH BOX LUNCH (PRIVATE)

Early pick up from your hotel to the respective train station and get on board the train that will lead us to the Km. 104 (starting point of the trekking) After registration procedure with the park rangers, start the trekking for approximately four hours up to the well-preserved remains of Wiñay Wayna (2,900 m.a.s.l.).  This is an impressive complex, made up of an agricultural center with numerous terraces, a religious sector, and an urban sector. On the way up, enjoy magnificent views of the Urubamba River valley and the Choquesuysuy archaeological complex, located on the other side of the river, and also of a beautiful waterfall located just a few minutes away from Wiñaywayna.  Continue and climb to Intipunku or The Sun Gate. This will take an hour of hiking, along a trail of flat stones on the edges of cliffs in highland jungle. From this fabulous spot, contemplate the sacred citadel of Machu Picchu. From Intipunku, descend to Machu Picchu and have an overview and orientation about this citadel.  Then, take the bus to Aguas Calientes, where we will spend the night.  Then, you will return to your hotel located down in Aguas Calientes town.  Accommodation at INKATERRA HOTEL, for one night in one Suite room.  (B, BL, D)

MACHU PICCHU / SACRED VALLEY / CUSCO (PRIVATE)

Early wake up and get on board the shuttle bus that will take you up to Machu Picchu citadel.  Begin a complete guided tour of the Inca citadel, taking approximately 3 hours guiding.  After a thorough visit, have time on you own to walk around, climb up the Huayna Picchu Mountain.

Note: Government regulations limit the number of visitors to Huayna Picchu daily. Entrance is subject to availability. Please book with plenty of notice so we may confirm your entrance to the ruins. 

From here, appreciate magnificent views of all of Machu Picchu, the valleys and mountains that surround it.  You can also visit the Temple of the Moon or the impressive Inca bridge.  After this awesome visit, return to Machu Picchu town (known before as Aguas Calientes), here you may enjoy lunch on your own. After lunch, take the train back to Cusco or Ollantaytambo. Upon arrival at the train station, you will be transferred to a private vehicle back to your hotel.

Inca rulers once called Cusco the "Navel of the World". Cusco remains today a city that blends colonial Spanish charm with older, more austere remains of pre-Columbian glory. One can see the foundations of Inca structures on many of its city streets today. Today you will go on a guided visit of the Imperial City of Cusco. In this Cusco city tour, you will visit the Main Plaza, which has been the scene of great historical events in the Capital of the Incas, the main Cathedral church, built of great slabs of red granite in renaissance style and thus contrasting with the baroque style silverwork which decorates its interior.  .  You will then continue to the Santo Domingo church, built upon the foundations of the Inca temple Koricancha, which was dedicated to S un worship.

 

 

Following, you will head to the City’s nearby ruins; the fortress of Sacsayhuaman, a magnificent example of Incan military power; Qenqo, a ritualistic site with subterranean galleries that form an underground maze; Puca Pucara, the red fortress and finally Tambomachay, also known as the Incan Baths. After this amazing educative Cusco city tour, you will be driven back to your hotel.  (B)

This new route by Cusipata is an exceptional way to get the well-known Vinicunca Mountain, which enables trekkers to discover everything about the magical area of Rainbow Mountain where we will appreciate multicolored hills, astonishing ice-glaciers and herds of alpacas and llamas; also, we will explore the Red Valley located at half kilometer from Vinicunca Mountain. The Cusipata route follows a different valley away from the regular Rainbow Mountain trips (by Pitumarca), this trek is ideal to avoid all the crowds and enjoy the peaceful local villages combined with the great mountain scenery; besides these benefits, this route is shorter than the traditional way by Pitumarca (80 km shorter / round-trip) which allows passengers to depart from Cusco after taking breakfast at the hotel.

Itinerary description:

CUSCO – CUSIPATA – LLAQTO – VINICUNCA:

After breakfast, we will pick you up from your hotel and set out on a drive through the South Valley, following the asphalt road towards Puno; before arriving to Cusipata village (3320masl / 10892 ft) we will turn to the left and go on by unpaved path until reach Llaqto (4640 masl / 15223 ft) where we will arrive after almost 3 hours driving from Cusco. At this point, we will meet our horses and muleteers (according to your horses and muleteers request) who will accompany us during the hiking. At Llaqto we will start hiking uphill until get the Rainbow Mountain, along the way we will be surprised by herds of alpacas and llamas, also the astonishing views of the Inca and Huasaqocha snowcap Mountains which will accompany us all the way; after almost 1 ½ hours hiking, we will be rewarded for our efforts when we finally reach the amazing Vinicunca (known as the rainbow mountain, 5040 masl / 16535 ft) with its colorful layers of rock sediment (turquoise, orange, brown and red), time to relax and take pictures.  After visiting Vinicunca, we will explore the Red Valley (to see the amazing red color hills) which is located at half kilometer from Vinicunca Mountain. Time to enjoy the picnic lunch with an impressive view of the Inca and Huasaqocha Snowcap Mountains. Finally, we will board our private transport to return to Cusco where we will arrive after almost 2 ½ hours driving.

All touring arrangements herein are subject to change without notice and can be operated in a different sequence, depending on operational considerations, weather conditions and BIO-SECURE PROTOCOLS. All hotels are subject to availability and can be substituted for equivalent hotels. Each passenger must have a valid passport with a minimum of 6 months of remaining validity, before its date of expiration. Visitors arriving with less than 6 months of remaining passport validity to any foreign country risk immediate return to the airport where they boarded the arriving flight. If any visas are required, they are the sole responsibility of each passenger.
